Person Donates Diamond to Salvation Army

'Tis the season of giving!

That's just what someone did in the town of Savoy.

A person dropped a diamand ring into a Salvation Army kettle at the town's Wal-Mart.

Salvation Army Corps Officer Major Tom McDowell says an anonymous note was attached to the ring, signed "God bless us all."

McDowell says the ring was sold Friday to a Champaign jewelry store for $225 dollars.

What's ironic, last year someone placed a 2003 half-ounce gold liberty coin into the kettle at the same Wal-Mart.
