A Paris Illinois mother appears in court for the first time to be formally charged with killing her two-year-old son.

In court Thursday, 21-year old Selena Hall and her boyfriend 32-year-old James Watson were formally charged with murdering Landon Weaver.

According to court records, Hall and Watson are both charged with one count of first degree murder.

Watson is also facing a second count of involuntary manslaughter.

The Illinois State Police say on November 5th, they were asked by the Department of Children and Family services to investigate a severely injured child.

They say the toddler was taken to Paris Community Hospital but was airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he died November 10th.

A Marion County Indiana coroner ruled Weaver's death was due to homicidal violence.

Hall and Watson are being housed at the Coles County jail in Charleston on a half million dollars bond each.

In an unrelated case, Watson is also facing felony charges of criminal trespassing and possessing a firearm.

Services for two-year-old Landon "Bubby" Weaver are planned for this weekend.

The visitation starts at 4pm Friday at Templeton Funeral home in Paris.

A celebration of life service happens Saturday at 10am also at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Embarrass Cemetery west of Redmon, IL.
