Friday, 24 October 2014

Although there have been no cases of Ebola in the midwest two local hospitals are preparing for the virus.

Carle Hospital in Urbana is equipped with isolation rooms and equipment that protects workers and patients from exposure.

Carle says it has several physicians who specialize in treating infectious diseases and dedicated staff on standby to accept and care for a possible Ebola patient.

Meanwhile, Paris Community Hospital has established an Ebola care team that will be trained on specific disease related procedures.

The hospital also plans to conduct an Ebola drill to help staff prepare.
