The Mattoon Fire department has a bunch of new gear! The department recently received a ten thousand dollar grant which helped it buy training and upgraded equipment. News Watch's Derrick Jackson spoke with Mattoon's Assistant Fire Chief Sean Junge, who says the new gear was definitely needed. The grant money was provided by S and S Service company. Firefighters say the money couldn't have come at a better time; some equipment in the department was more than twenty years old.
