Following his second straight losing season as head coach, the University of Illinois announced that Tim Beckman will be back for a third season coaching football.
Speculation about Beckman's job security followed him through much of the Illini's 4-8 season this year.
Athletic Director Mike Thomas announced that the two plan to talk later this week about Beckman's staff, and other aspects of the program.
Beckman is finishing his second year of a five year contract, in which Illinois is 6-18 under his coaching.
