Edgar County Airport Arson

Wednesday, 20 November 2013

Monday night the Edgar County sheriff's department took a 911 call about two airplanes burning outside a hanger at the Edgar County Airport. Messages were spray painted on the planes before they were lit on fire. One message read "This is our airport" and the other had an expletive and the name Rob. Robert Bogue of Edgar County believes the messages were written about him. The Edgar County Sheriff's Department, the state Fire Marshal's office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the incident and say there are no suspects at this time. Robert Bogue and his son Rusty spent a lot of time at the Edgar County airport. In fact, the two worked together on both planes that were burned. In late August, the plane carrying Rusty Bogue, Robert's son, took off from the airport and later crashed, killing Rusty. Edgar County Airport manager Jimmy Wells says there are still a lot of unanswered questions as to why someone would commit these crimes. Robert says he just wants to see whoever did this come to justice. News Watch will continue to follow this story.
