IL Minimum Wage Increase

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn says raising the minimum wage from $8.25 to $10 per hour will be good for the economy and help create jobs. But some local business owners say the increase could take a toll on their bottom line. The current Illinois rate of took effect in July 2010 when it increased by a quarter. A proposal to raise the minimum wage came up in the state Senate last year but wasn't called for a floor vote.
