Begins Sept 17!

At Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU-FM, we continue to harness positive energy for a brighter future in moving forward during these uncertain times. We are in our 19th year - still going strong and doing what we love to do! We are still the only station in Charleston! We are still training EIU students who have a passion for broadcasting! We continue to be on the air daily supporting our community by providing a musical and news outlet to entertain and inform the Coles County area.

Our annual Adopt-A-Watt 2023 pledge drive begins Sunday, Sept. 17. Everyone who gives $100 or more toward our goal of $16,000 will receive a Hit-Mix 88.9 T-shirt as a special thank you gift (be sure to let us know your T-shirt size) along with a record on the wall of the Hit-Mix 88.9 studio with their name on it.

In addition, a WEIU Passport membership comes with your contribution to Adopt-a-Watt. Click here to learn more about Passport does for you!

WEIU operates at 88.9 FM with 4000 watts of power. By adopting a watt -- or multiple watts! -- you can be assured that "your" radio station will be able to deliver the programming, news and sports you have come to rely on. You will “own” your watt for one year and become a member of Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU.
