Hit-Mix 88.9
Listen Live

Adopt-a-Watt is Sept. 11-15!

We know WEIU radio is important to our listeners and the community. Funding for the station is also essential so we can continue to provide our programs to the community, which is why we are holding the seventh annual Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU “Adopt-A-Watt” Radioathon.

We have our sights set on a $15,000 goal, and there are two ways you can help us hit that number:

  • You can make a one-time $100 gift, which also comes with a WEIU membership card.

  • Or you can pledge $8.89 per month for one year (this option does not include the T-shirt).

WEIU operates at 88.9 FM with 4000 watts of power. By adopting a watt -- or multiple watts! -- you can be assured that "your" radio station will be able to deliver the programming, news and sports you have come to rely on. You will “own” your watt for one year and become a member of Hit-Mix 88.9 WEIU.

What makes Hit-Mix different from those other stations? What makes us stand out?

  1. Live announcers from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays.
  2. We take and play your requests.
  3. Extensive and growing musical playlist.
  4. Live Eastern Illinois University sports.
  5. Jazz music from 10 a.m. to noon each Sunday.
  6. Gospel Sign Time Sunday mornings 7-10 a.m.
  7. The area’s only long form live public affairs show – Issues and Attitudes — every Monday at noon.
  8. Folk music from 8-10 a.m. each Sunday morning.
  9. On TV during the morning show and during Issues and Attitudes.
  10. Online 24/7 at weiu.net.
  11. We are a small non-commercial radio station that does more for the community than larger area stations!
  12. Operated by a dedicated group of Eastern Illinois students who love working at Hit-Mix.

The money you give to support our station during Adopt-a-Watt funds all the above and more! We sincerely thank you.
