A juvenile is dead and two people are injured after a three-vehicle crash in Effingham County.
According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened before at 4:40 p.m on Wednesday at the intersection of Lake Sara and Moccasin Roads.
The driver of a pickup was traveling east and failed to slow down as he approached the intersection, where two other vehicles were stopped, said police.
Officers said the truck hit a car and pushed it into a second truck.
The driver of the hit car was flown to a regional hospital with severe injuries, while his passenger, a juvenile, was pronounced dead on scene, said police.
The passenger of the second truck hit also was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, said police.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved.
