Filling in the empty seat for a new head coach for the Eastern Illinois volleyball team has ended!
Eastern Illinois University Athletic Director Tom Michael announced the hiring of Julie Allen, as the 12th coach in program history.
Allen comes to EIU after being the volunteer assistant coach at Wichita State for two seasons, where she helped guide the Shockers to back-to-back N-C-A-A Tournament appearances.
Allen also has coaching experience at Chico State, Georgetown University, Arkansas State, and the University of Texas at El Paso.
Allen says she's super excited to join, and call the EIU program her new home.
During her two year stint at Wichita State, Allen worked with a pair of All-Americans in Jody Larson 2016 and Abbie Lehman 2017 along with Missouri Valley Conference Setter of the Year Emily Hiebert 2016.
