The University of Illinois Police Department will welcome a new technology coming later this year.
Officials said the department will be putting body cameras on patrol officers.
Interim Police Chief Matt Myrick said the cameras will not solve every problem in law enforcement, but will provide a more accurate story of an arrest or incident.
Myrick said many officers are looking forward to the new cameras, so their actions can be documented.
