A budget is approved for the University of Illinois.
The University of Illinois Board of Trustees said a fiscal budget of $6.5 million for 2018 is approved.
Officials said the budget will increase enrollment, freeze in-state tuition, and monitor spending budgets.
They said the budget includes $4.8 million of day to day operating costs which will benefit universities in
Chicago, Springfield, and Champaign-Urbana.
The budget also includes a $100,000 bonus for U of I president Timothy Killeen.
