Indiana appears to be falling short when it comes to enough teachers.
A survey of Indiana school superintendents has found many districts are experiencing a teacher shortage this fall.
Indiana State University professor Terry McDaniel said of the 141 district superintendents who responded to the survey, 94 percent said they had a teacher shortage specifically in the areas of special education, science and math.
McDaniel said many teachers are leaving the profession, and few people are entering it.
