Traffic Stop Turns Drug Bust

The Illinois State Police seized about $150,000 worth of marijuana in a traffic stop near Vandalia.

An ISP trooper was patrolling Interstate 70, west of Vandalia, when the trooper discovered 62 pounds of cannabis during a traffic stop Wednesday night.

The driver, 24-year-old Youzhen Huang of Philadelphia, was driving a silver Toyota Camary when he was stopped by the trooper for following too closely.

Huang was charged with Cannabis Trafficking, Possession of Cannabis, Manufacture/Delivery of Cannabis, and Calculated Cannabis Conspiracy.

Two passengers, 23-year-old Liyang Zhao and 21-year-old Yong Da Huang were also arrested.
