U of I Soybean Harvest

The University of Illinois is taking the soybean harvest to another level!

Officials from the U of I and Kyoto University said they've developed a process to speed soybean harvesting without sacrificing quality.

They said with this development, a combine operator can monitor soybean quality and make machinery adjustments on the fly.

Lead scientist Abdul Momin said the technology now requires operators to stop and manually check bean quality.

They said the machine has a high-speed camera that's mounted inside the tank and takes photos of the beans which a computer analyzes.
