Decatur National Night Out

The city of Decatur is inviting residents to the 34th Annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event.

The event is planned on Tuesday August 1st at Hess Park from 5-8pm.

Festivites include a dunk tank that will feature:
Macon County States Attorney Jay Scott
Fire Chief Jeff Abbott
Macon Co. Sheriff's Deputy Antonio Brown
Decatur Police Chief Jim Getz
Asst. City Manager Billy Tyus.

The NNO campaign involves local government officials, not-for-profit organizations, citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses and neighborhood organizations.

Officials say more than 16,000 cities around the U.S. will host block parties, cookouts, parades, flashlight walks, contests, and youth activities.  

In all, over 38.3 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out against Crime”.
