A homeless shelter is preparing to break ground on a new home of their own.
The Mattoon area PADS will host a groundbreaking ceremony April 19th at noon to kick off the construction of the new
facility.
A campaign earlier this year raised $50,000 to help construct the new center.
The building is expected to open at the end of this year,and will include separate sleeping rooms for men and women, conference areas, a bigger kitchen, pantry, and dining area.
