Illinois State Police District 10 join forces with statewide agencies for a speed awareness campaign.
Illinois Speed Awareness Day is Wednesday July 27th.
Troopers will be participating in extra enforcement patrols including Air Speed, LIDAR Details, and Radar Details.
Officers say the details will be on state and U.S. highways, county roads, city streets, and interstates I-57, I-72, and I-74.
Police say in Illinois during 2014, speed was the reason for 32.4% of all traffic fatalities.
