Drivers will be seeing more police patroling local roads and interstates this week.
Local departments along with the Illinois State Police and the Illinois Department of Transportation will be participating in the Click It or Ticket campaign May 16th through May 30th.
Authorities say officers will be out in force day and night cracking down on seat belt law violators and impaired drivers.
They say Illinois law requires all front and back seat occupants to buckle up.
Authorities say 13 fatalities happened on Illinois roads during the 2015 Memorial Day weekend with three of those fatalaties being alcohol-related.
