IL Budget Impasse

Tuesday, 1 December 2015

The effects of Illinois' budget impasse continue to trickle down. This time, to another Illinois Department of Transportation facility. It's not the first location to see the effects of the state's budget freeze. The I-DOT transportation garage near Mattoon had its water shut off last week, as a result of the state's budget impasse. A company called Clear Water Services provides the facility's water. Clear Water says they did what they had to. News Watch's Jesse Guinn reached out to I-DOT today and was referred to the main office in Springfield. The office of communications released this statement about the matter: "We continue to work with all of the parties involved to arrive at a solution that minimizes any impact to the traveling public." I-DOT also says they're "making accommodations so the public continues to receive the services they deserve and expect." We'll continue to keep you updated on the states budget impasse. For now ... live in the studio I'm Jesse Guinn.
