The Coles County coroner is releasing the name of a Mattoon woman who died in a motorcycle accident.
Illinois State Police say 31-year-old Marla McKenzie was a passenger on a motorcyle riding northbound on
Interstate 57 Saturday morning, when a deer hit the bike.
Authorities say the driver the motorcycle was airlfted to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana for treatment of injuries.
They say the driver was 43-year-old Timothy Dare of Mattoon.
Police say neither the driver or McKenzie was wearing helmets.
