A new health and service center is available in Mattoon.
Southern Illinois University's School of Medicine has opened an outreach office aimed to better serve residents of the area at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Officials say projects include helping social service agencies find food resources, and help hospitals develop and implement new programs.
They say SIU medical school's Office of Community Health and Service will serve 20 counties in the area.
