A postmaster in Shelby County is asking residents to leash their dogs!

Shelbyville postmaster Dawn Hagan is asking people to keep their dogs leashed and under control when mail carriers are delivering.

Hagan says recently two carriers have been bitten, one on the hand and the other the leg.

She says if your dog bites a carrier, a report is sent to the police station, and a warning notice sent to you.

She says it's also possible vicious dogs will be taken to the pound.

News Watch will have more on this story coming up tomorrow.
