To better serve the community, a local sheriff's department will soon use new technology in their operations.
All 54 men and women of the Champaign County Sheriff's Office will be outfitted with body cameras starting next Monday.
The department says the equipment will help officers gather the best evidence they can.
Officials say the cameras are easy to use and have easy access to the on-off switch.
