Piatt County School Employee Arrested

A former bus driver and assistant cheerleading sponsor for Piatt County schools is arrested for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Seargant John Russell of the Piatt County Sheriff's Department says Tamzin Wegrich of Bement was arrested October 7 for incidents involving an underage boy.

He says the investigation started when a concerned citizen called police back in July.

Officials say Wegrich resigned from her position at Bement High School the day before, and she's no longer driving a bus.
