A post on Facebook helps Charleston police arrest a man they say was driving a truck that hit an Eastern Illinois University student.
45-year-old Jose Garcia Cardiel is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident causing great bodily harm.
Charleston police say Eastern Illinois University student Alexandria Ward was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana after being hit at the intersection of Grant and 4th Streets on September 21st.
After the accident, Charleston police released a picture of a truck they believed to have caused the accident.
That photo was put on the department's Facebook page.
Police say thanks to tips from the public they were able to locate the truck and Cardiel.
Ward is recovering from her injuries.
