The landscape is about to change for students attending Indiana State University.

The university plans to demolish the Statesman towers that once housed its colleges of education and business.

Officials say the empty buildings will come down sometime within the coming year.

They say once demolished the area will be used as green space.

ISU announced plans several years ago to demolish the towers, but they were put on hold while a developer considered possible reuses of the buildings.

The cost of the demolition is estimated at four million dollars.
