Wednesday, 6 March 2013

A national search has come to an end at Lake Land college. Early this morning, college officials announced who would take over the role of president after Scott Lensink retires June 30th. The person selected got a unanimous nod from the search committee! Doctor Jonathan Bullock will be the seventh president of Lake Land and take place of current president Scott Lensink. Head of the Board of Trustees Robert Luther says it was a long, hard process. "We've reviewed all the applicants narrowed the field down to seven invitied them to campus for interviews and then we narrowed that down to three individuals and we visited their campus," says Luther. "We did reference checks and then they came here last week, the three finalists, for interviews with the board of trustees." Current President Scott Lensink was able to meet Bullock, and says he'll be a great assest to the Lake Land community. "He really brought an energy that I think the board recognized and the search committee recognized as important in the new president," says Lensink. Student Kass Kursey says he looks forward to some new leadership on campus and hopes the new president will be hands on. "Maybe some more involvement amongst the students some more interaction between faculty and students and stuff like that," says Kursey. Bullock comes to Lake Land from Moraine Park Technical College in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin. He served as the Vice President there since 2008. He wasn't at the meeting today, but will start at Lake Land on July 1st.
