If you like to drive and chat, you may need a hands-free device sometime in the future.
The Illinois House approved a measure prohibiting hand-held use of a cell phone while driving.
The 64-46 vote is enought to move the bill to the state Senate.
The legislation would force drivers to use a hands-free device or a speaker phone feature for calls.
If the bill becomes law, police could pull over anyone holding a cell phone while they're driving.
Texting while driving is already illegal in Illinois.
