What is WEIU Passport?

WEIU Passport is the newest member benefit for WEIU members with an annual contribution of at least $60 or an ongoing monthly contribution of $5 or more.

With WEIU Passport, you can access your favorite programs on demand at video.weiu.net and on your smartphone, tablet, or television streaming device via the PBS app when you identify WEIU as your station.

How can I activate WEIU Passport?

If you are an active WEIU member giving at least $60 (or $5 monthly) and we have a valid email address on file, you may have already received an email with activation instructions and your token. You can enter your email address to see if you have an unactivated WEIU Passport. You can email weiu@weiu.net if you think you should have access but do not.

I just made a gift today, why can’t I activate WEIU Passport?

If you gave your gift by mail or over the phone, it may take a few days for your donation to be entered into our database and your activation code assigned. Please email weiu@weiu.net and we will send you your activation code as soon as possible.

What kind of programming can I find on WEIU Passport?

WEIU Passport includes hundreds of hours of programming representing many genres including drama, science, history, natural history and the arts. The WEIU Passport library will continue to grow as more series and episodes are added.

Look for videos with this blue compass symbol: passport-icon Those videos are only available to WEIU Passport eligible members.

Why isn’t my favorite program on WEIU Passport?

Initially, several hundred hours of content will be available via WEIU Passport. This library of content will continue to grow and change over time as more titles are added and others expire.

Will there still be streaming on weiu.net and pbs.org?

Yes, WEIU and PBS content will continue to be available for free on http://video.weiu.net and other digital platforms for a limited time period. WEIU Passport simply provides extended access to a rich library of content for WEIU members to enjoy. Certain content, including kids and news and public affairs programs, will be accessible to everyone.

What kind of device do I need to access WEIU Passport?

WEIU Passport can be accessed on http://video.weiu.net, the PBS Video app for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, as well as on the PBS channel on Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, and Amazon Fire TV. WEIU Passport is supported on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari.
