Charleston Avenue (IL 16) Roadwork Update – May 13, 2026

On Wednesday, May 13, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Howell Paving will pave the turn lanes and median areas at intersections from Swords Drive to Logan Street.

Motorists should expect traffic patterns and turning restrictions similar to those experienced on Tuesday. Lane closures, limited turning movements, and delays will occur as paving operations move through each intersection.

To avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible and allow extra travel time. All work is weather dependent and schedules may change.
