Mattoon Woman Arrested After a Vacant House Fire

A Mattoon woman is arrested after an investigation into a vacant home fire.

On Friday, Mattoon Police arrested 38 year-old Jessica Lovett.

Court records show Lovett was charged with burglary and arson, and has been denied pre-trial release.

Last week the Mattoon Fire Department responded to a vacant house fire on Commercial Avenue.

After an investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshall's Office, the fire was labled suspicious.

Authorities said the home was known to have squatters coming and going.
