Two ambulance services in Clark County have agreed to merge, county officials announced Tuesday.
Marshall Fire Protection District Ambulance and Clark County Ambulance will combine November 1, creating a county-wide unified 911 ambulance service, according to the Clark County board.
In recent years, the Marshall Fire Protection District Ambulance struggled to cover costs, while payments from Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance did not increase.
The merger will help control costs and better serve residents, county officials said.
