Former Coles Co. Asst. State's Attorney Pleads Not Guilty to Charges

A former Coles County assistant state's attorney charged with bribery and misconduct pleads not guilty.

According to court records, 34-year-old Brady L. Allen appeared in court Wednesday.

Allen faces dozens of felony charges including bribery and official misconduct.

Prosecutors said Allen solicited sexual contact with female defendants between 2018 and 2020 and tried to influence one of those defendants not to pursue claims against him.

Court records show Allen is scheduled back in court for a status hearing August 16th.
