The Illinois Department of Transportation announces a construction project on U.S. Route 45.
The work will include replacing a bridge over the Flat Branch stream just south of Humboldt starting June 9th, said officials.
Local traffic will be permitted on U.S. 45 between County Highway 18, north of Mattoon and Illinois 133 in Arcola, said IDOT.
IDOT said a detour route using I-57 will be posted.
The work is expected to be finished by November 1st.
Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 2,500 miles of highway and nearly 10 million square feet of bridge deck as part of the Rebuild Illinois capital program.
