1 p.m. | Rick Steves' Italy: Cities of Dreams

In this two-hour special, travel guru Rick Steves tours the ancient glories and back-street riches of three great Italian cities - Rome, Venice and Florence. Starting in Florence, Rick beholds the art of Fra Angelico, Botticelli and Michelangelo before savoring a Florentine-style steak. In Rome, he ventures into the rustic neighborhoods of Trastevere and the Ghetto. In Venice, he gazes upon the splendor of the Doge before embracing the good life with a gastronomic pub crawl and a romantic gondola ride. During the breaks, Rick offers insights into Italian culture and travel.


3 p.m. | Quilts of Valor II

Quilts of Valor II reunites national quilting celebrities Alex Anderson, Mark Lipinski and host Marianne Fons from the original Quilts of Valor to work on one magnificent, new Quilt of Valor.

As they sew, the quilting gurus share quilt-making tips with viewers, and speak from the heart about what being involved in making quilts for veterans has come to mean to them. The program also features stories from Nebraska, California, North Carolina and Washington, D.C. , introducing viewers to the people who make Quilts of Valor, and the people who receive them.


4:30 p.m. | Aging Backwards with Miranda Esmonde-White

Valuable insights on combating the physical signs and consequences of aging. Scientific, yet entertaining and accessible, the three-part special shares practical information on slowing down and potentially reversing the aging process through exercise and other lifestyle choices. Charismatic Classical Stretch host Miranda Esmonde-White, a former National Ballet of Canada dancer, motivates viewers to stretch and strengthen their way to feeling and looking younger. Interviews with doctors and physiotherapists, testimonials from Classical Stretchenthusiasts ranging in age from 22 to 90, and clear explanations from Esmonde-White illustrate the damage caused by a sedentary lifestyle and the benefits of exercise at every stage of life.
