The Coles County neighborhood watch gathered Thursday evening to talk about what the group will be doing for their communities.
Coles County Sheriff's Deputy Jimmy Rankin says he got the idea to get a neighborhood watch going after a concerned resident contacted him.
Rankin says the group will not only be used as a prevention for crime, but also as a way to establish a sense of community.
