The City of Decatur is requesting all water customers to reduce the amount of water they use until further notice.
Lake Decatur is currently a foot below the average.
For the third consecutive year the lake's watershed has received far below average rainfall for the second half of the year.
Water customers are advised to do their part by repairing leaking faucets, operating washing machines only when full, and turning water off while brushing their teeth.
