Latest: IL Rivers Project

Some Edgar County residents may be out of luck when it comes to a powerline running through their property.

Ameren's Illinois Rivers Project is a 380 mile transmission line expected to affect 19 counties and about 84-hundred land owners in Central Illinois.

Edgar County Farm Bureau manager Sarah Reedy says the Illinois Commerce Commission has decided to re-hear arguments about some areas the line would go through.

But that means for residents outside that area, the ICC won't change Ameren's route.

The ICC will not re-hear arguments from residents west of Meridosia or East of Kansas.

She advises residents to hire an independent lawyer and have them read over any paperwork or easements before signing anything from land agents.
