A Central Illinois priest withdraws from public ministry after 30-year-old allegations of sexual misconduct surface.
Officials at the Diocese of Springfield says Father Robert "Bud" DeGrand, pastor of parishes in Sigel and Neoga, is withdrawing from public ministry pending further investigation.
The allegation of sexual abuse against Father DeGrand was said to have happened in 1980 while he was assigned to Our Savior Parish in Jacksonville, Illinois.
The Diocese has notified the Morgan County States Attorney since the abuse supposedly happened there.
News Watch contacted the state's attorney to ask about potential charges ... but so far our calls have not been returned.
