Charleston Fire Dept. Receives Grant

The Charleston Fire Department will be receiving nearly ten thousand dollars for a local safety program.

Congressman John Shimkus says the money is from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program and will be used to purchase smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

The grant program is administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
