Monday, 22 July 2013

A Charleston man has been charged with aggravated drunk driving in an accident that killed a 16-year-old bicyclist and injured four others.

Samuel Lee Meadows is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday after also being charged last week with failure to report an accident with a death and leaving the scene of an accident.

Meadows is accused of running into the cyclists on a rural road south of Charleston on July 6th.

The 21-year-old has not entered a plea.

Leonard J. Beachy of Flat Rock died in the accident.

The Amish cyclists had been at a trade show for horse-powered farm technology near Arthur.
