Thursday, 27 June 2013

Eastern Illinois has added former starting New Mexico State quarterback Andrew Manley to its roster.

Panthers head coach Dino Babers says Manley has transferred to Eastern Illinois and will have two seasons of eligibility left.

Manley started all 12 games for New Mexico State last season.

He threw for 2,764 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Manley started three games in 2011 but suffered a season-ending knee injury.

The native of Hawaii transferred while in the middle of a three-way competition for the Aggies' starting quarterback job.

Eastern Illinois starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will be back this fall for his senior season.

He set an Ohio Valley Conference single-season record last fall for passing yards with 3,823.

Garoppolo was 331-of-540 with 31 touchdown passes.
