Villa Grove Flood Insurance Latest

Tuesday, 30 April 2013

As the water clears out of Villa Grove, residents are busy tallying up just how much the rain cost them. Most owners say they don't have flood insurance because they don't think it will make a difference. Other residents, like Robert Kneer, say the insurance saved them a lot of money. He says damages to his house cost about $10,000, but insurance was able to pay about half of that cost. Officials say the Federal Emergency Management Agency has been on site to hand out care packages. Some community members say they expect FEMA to come and buy damaged property from the homeowners to help relieve some of the costs.
