U of I Men's Basketball Struggles In Big Ten

Monday, 12 February 2018

The University of Illinois men's basketball team is struggling to figure it out on defense, and the rest of the Big Ten is taking notice.

The Illini are hitting a brick wall in conference play, as for the second consecutive game they have given up runs of 19 and 12.

This time around, it is Penn State taking advantage, holding Illinois scoreless for more than seven minutes, en route to a 74-52 win.

The Illini also notch a season-low 16 points in the second half in what marks their third straight loss.

Next up for U of I, a road trip to Indiana Wednesday night.
