A University of Illinois student accused of damaging a menora at the Chabad Center for Jewish Life pleads not guilty.
18-year old Jacob Bassler appeared in court yesterday facing a single count of criminal damage to property between 500 and $10,000, a class four felony.
Police said Jacob Bassler and Nicholas Gustafson were captured on suveilance video damaging a Menorah at the Chabad Center for Jewish Life on October 27th.
A court date for Gustafson hasn't been set.
A new menorah will be installed at the center next week.
Bassler will be back in court January 16th.
