Money from a federal grant will be used to help children in central Illinois.
This week, U.S.senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth awarded money to several Head Start and Early Head Start programs throughout Illinois.
The C.E.F.S Economic Opportunity Corporation in Effingham will receive more than 1.4 million dollars.
The Corporation serves nearly 550 children and pregnant women in several counties including Effingham, Moultrie, Christian and Shelby.
