Mattoon police arrest two men accused of burglarizing and stealing a vehicle from a car lot in Mattoon.
Police said 31- year-old Laurence Thompson and 33-year-old Matthew Cook of Mattoon are accused of burglarizing Ideal Auto Sales and stealing a car while there.
Authorities said they were dispatched to the 19-hundred block of Lake Land Boulevard in regards to a business alarm.
They said the car was located in the vicinity of Hindsboro and pursued by a Coles County Sheriff's Deputy.
They said Thompson allegedly abandoned the car and fled by foot.
Police said the charges against Cook allege he was a passenger in the stolen car, and also fled on foot from the deputy.
