K-Mart is closing more locations nation wide, and the Effingham store is one of them.
Sears Holdings Corporation said the stores are being eliminated due to downsizing, and will start closing in January.
Sears Holdings Corporations said 18 Sears stores will also be closing, but the Effingham store will remain open.
They say the Effingham K-Mart will begin liquidation as early as November 9th.
While the company couldn't tell us how many employees will lose their jobs in Effingham, they say many positions are part-time.
