Champaign School Lead Levels

Friday, 13 October 2017

Elevated levels of lead are found in Champaign county schools.

Thirteen water fountains within the Champaign school district are being replaced or turned off after revealing increased

amounts of lead.

Reports say there was so much lead in the fountains that the Champaign Unit 4 School District is required by the state to

notify all students and parents.

Testing for lead took place over the summer and school officials are taking immediate action.
